Career Readiness Education
Project-Based Learning for Middle & High School
I design career readiness courses that empower students to explore real-world professions through hands-on, project-based learning. From middle school to high school, each course centers on authentic tasks directly tied to the careers being studied—whether students are designing marketing campaigns, planning community events, or analyzing environmental data. This approach not only builds practical skills but also fosters deeper engagement and relevance. Students consistently rated these PBL courses as more meaningful and motivating than traditional instruction, citing the opportunity to connect classroom learning to future goals.

Swimming in the Steno Pool
The admin assistant PBL course was a little basic and dry. I created this interactive story for the project introduction to liven it up and get students excited about the topics, as well as appreciate how far women have come in the profession. In the story, students get transported back in time and have to work an office as a secretary in the 1950s.
Fake News Quiz
This interactive quiz teaches digital literacy and asks broadcast journalism students if they can tell the difference between real news and fake news.

SWATTed
For a middle school Law Enforcement careers course, I designed a manga-style comic to teach about cybercrime, featuring a girl gamer protagonist to address gender representation in gaming. Illustrated by Tim Sanguisin, the comic thoughtfully portrayed the seriousness of SWATTING while being sensitive to students who may have experienced police violence.
